Castlegar Station Museum
Castlegar's Museum is housed in an almost century old rail station, and one of the best historically preserved in the province. Once inside you can envision the hustle and bustle of the passengers boarding the trains. The stations agent's residence on the upper floor provides you with a wonderful sensation of the early 1900's. The newspaper archives will give you hours of enjoyment. The gift shop offers visitors a variety of locally crafted souvenirs to choose from and the beautifully landscaped area around the front of the station is a wonderful spot to rest with accessible parking to the downtown shops.

The Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science
The Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science, located in Castlegar, is a public art gallery that serves the entire West Kootenay Region. It is one of the 28 original exhibition centres built in the 1970s so that rural people could enjoy the great works of art, sourced regionally, nationally and internationally as well as provide a professional venue for regional artists to show and sell their work.

Zuckerberg Island Heritage Park
Come take a walk around our island park and discover a heritage of human and natural history unique within the Columbia River Valley. Your visit will take you back several thousand years to when the Lakes Salish people first fished and built their winter pit houses here. Almost 200 years ago David Thompson sailed down the Columbia past this island. 60 years when Alexander Zuckerberg built his unique Russian Orthodox Chapel House. Proceeds from donations, gift shop items, weddings and tours go back into the operating and maintenance of Zuckerberg Island and the Station Museum.

Doukhobor Discovery Centre
The
Doukhobor Discovery Centre will introduce you to Doukhobor culture and their unique lifestyle as it evolved in the Kootenay region of British Columbia from 1908 to 1938. Over 1,000 artifacts represent the pioneering, fascinating arts and crafts, customs and religion of the people.
This enjoyable and unique museum is nestled in a beautiful historic setting on the banks of the Columbia River on traditional Doukhobor orchard land near the original settlement of 1908. Here, you can learn about the origin of the Doukhobor people as you stroll through the spacious grounds.
