Castlegar’s Larger Outdoor Ice Rink is Open for the Season
The larger of the two outdoor community rinks is now open for skating and hockey.
The City of Castlegar is pleased to announce that the larger outdoor ice rink at 2501 14th Avenue, on the back side of Kinnaird Park, is now open for public use. The rink is free to use and available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with lighting provided during evening hours.
The smaller rink is anticipated to open next week.
Residents are encouraged to use the rinks for skating and hockey and reminded to be mindful of others sharing the ice. While skating chairs and walker bars are not provided, individuals are welcome to bring their own.
The outdoor rinks will remain open as long as temperatures stay below freezing. Temporary closures may occur due to weather conditions or maintenance needs. Before heading out, check the current rink status at castlegar.ca/rinkstatus.
