Special In-Camera Council Meeting


As Castlegar's elected governing body, City Council holds Regular and Special meetings to discuss the City's goals, major projects, infrastructure improvements, financial and strategic planning initiatives, and more.

Regular Meetings

Regular meetings are normally held on the first and third Monday of each month, except for the months of July and August when meetings are only held once per month. A complete Council Meeting schedule is posted on the City’s website. Meetings begin at 3:00 p.m. for the Committee of the Whole followed by Regular meetings at 7:00 p.m. During the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings are held using Zoom and all login information is posted to this page. The complete Regular agenda package is normally available the Friday before the Council meeting. Notice of meetings is posted on the City’s website, on the Public Notice Board at City Hall, and at the Community Forum.

Special Meetings

From time-to-time it is necessary to call a Special Council meeting. In such cases, 24-hours notice of the meeting is given by posting a notice on the Public Notice Board at City Hall, at the Community Forum and on the City’s website.

Delegations

Each Council meeting can include up to two delegations. Delegations are limited to a 15-minute presentation which must include a Council question and answer period.

If you wish to appear as a delegation at a Council meeting, complete and submit the Delegation Request Form.

Proclamations

Council has passed a resolution that all proclamations received by the City of Castlegar will be received for information only.
