Financial Reporting

The City of Castlegar prepares and releases annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for local governments.

Prepared by the City’s Financial Services department, the statements are audited by an independent auditor who reports directly to Council and provides an audit opinion on the statements.

The financial statements are included in Castlegar’s Annual Report.

Statement of Financial Information (SOFI)

In addition to the financial statements and annual report, municipalities must prepare a Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) as required under BC’s Financial Information Act. This document must be made available to the public by June 30 of each year.
