Let’s Get Merry and Bright - Holiday Decoration Contest

The City has partnered with Castlegar News, FortisBC, and Mercer Celgar to bring a Merry and Bright holiday decoration contest to Castlegar again this season.

Judges will tour Castlegar after dark on Saturday, December 17, and select first and second-place winners for the best and most creative holiday displays. The winners will be announced in the December 22 edition of the Castlegar News and will share $1,500 in gift certificates to Castlegar restaurants, activities, shops, and stores.

“We are excited to see Castlegar get into the holiday spirit and light up all areas of our community,” says Councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff, Chair of the Community Wellness and Social Services Committee. “We have added an online map this year, making it easier to find homes with the best decorations and lights throughout the merriest month of all - December.”

How to Enter

Send a photo of your holiday display and address to info@castlegar.ca.

The City will add entries to the Merry & Bright map throughout the month.

Only Castlegar residents are eligible to win the prizes, but we hope our friends in the surrounding rural areas will also light up their neighbourhoods.
