Bringing Down the Bump - Delays Expected on Columbia Avenue

Bringing Down the Bump - Delays Expected on Columbia Avenue

On Thursday, October 22, residents can expect delays when travelling along north Columbia Avenue.

Traffic will be single lane, alternating, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the City makes proactive repairs to smooth the uneven transition at the Canadian Pacific (CP) rail crossing near 17th Street. These upgrades are also part of the City’s preparations for winter.

An alternative route is available between north and south Castlegar via the Kinnaird and Robson bridges.

The City of Castlegar is a service centre in the West Kootenay. The diversified and growing economy is focused on the forestry, energy and mining sectors in the valley, and commercial services in the City. Quality of life features backcountry adventure and an increasingly dynamic urban culture, including the Millennium Park & Ponds and Sculpture Walk.
