City-operated Sani-dump in Castlegar Closed

City of Castlegar’s sani-dump at the Castlegar Visitors Centre, at 1995 6th Avenue, is now closed.

Residents and visitors have options with other facilities at:

Husky Gas Station - 1415 Columbia Avenue

Syringa Provincial Park - 5570 Broadwater Road

“We know this is a popular amenity in the community and we are actively planning for a new sani-dump facility,” says Sam Shine, City of Castlegar Operations Manager. “Staff are currently investigating options and we will be discussing them with Council later this year.”

The sani-dump was not originally scheduled to be in service in 2022. Fortunately, the City was able to open it for a few months before the location becomes an active construction zone.

The site will see the construction of the much-anticipated Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce's “Confluence” space - a new 7,000 square foot building which will bring economic growth, tourism, and local business supports together. Learn more at castlegarconfluence.com.
