CastleMap GIS Viewer

CastleMap is the City of Castlegar’s online tool for viewing visual information about property lines, zoning and bylaws, land use, addresses aerial photography and topological data.

Terms of Use

  • CastleMap is supplied on an “as is, where is” basis and is only updated periodically. The City of Castlegar assumes no obligation or liability for the use of CastleMap by any person and makes no representations or promises regarding the completeness or accuracy of CastleMap or its fitness for a particular purpose. CastleMap represents a one-time capture of information as it exists at the time the information is transferred to CastleMap and does not necessarily include the ongoing updates or corrections to the source database maintained by the City of Castlegar or other agencies and included for the City’s internal purposes.
  • The User will use CastleMap only for the User’s own internal business and personal purposes and may not:
    • 1. Re-sell, sublicense, or operate a service bureau using CastleMap; or
    • 2. Otherwise reproduce, publish or disseminate CastleMap for commercial purposes, without the prior written consent of the City of Castlegar.
  • All rights, title and interest (including all copyright, patent, and other intellectual property rights) in CastleMap remain vested in the City of Castlegar at all times. The original copyright and other proprietary notices included with CastleMap must remain intact at all times.
  • The User now indemnifies the City of Castlegar and its officials, employees and agents from and against all losses, claims, demands, actions, payments, expenses, costs, suits, and damages (including any damages that are direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential), whether or not caused by the negligence of the City of Castlegar, or its officials, employees or agents, which are incurred by the User and would not or could not have been incurred but for the User’s use of CastleMap or the User’s breach of these Terms of Use.
  • Failure of the User to comply with these Terms of Use will result in the automatic termination of the User’s rights to access CastleMap.
  • These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. If any part of these Terms of Use are found to be unenforceable, then that part will be severed so that the remainder of these Terms of Use can continue to be enforceable.
