How to Apply for a Snow Dump Permit
Contractors wanting to use the City Complex Snow Dump Facility for depositing snow must complete the following documents:
- Permit to Use Complex Snow Dump; and
- Agreement for Snow Dump Use.
These documents can be found on the City’s Website. Please return the completed Permit and Agreement (“Complex Snow Dump User Agreement”) to the City for review and approval. You can drop it off at City Hall, Civic Works or email to civicworks@castlegar.ca. Once approved, a fee of $750 must be paid at City Hall. When payment is received, a code to the padlock at the City Complex Snow Dump Facility will be provided. This code is not to be shared with anyone outside of your organization.
Note: When plowing snow for commercial businesses, the snow must be contained on site or hauled away. Snow deposited on City property or streets will be hauled away by City crews and the resulting costs and fines will be forwarded to the contractor and property owner.
