Millennium Park

Millennium Park

Covering a 23 hectare area near Castlegar’s downtown core, Millennium Park is the largest, most expansive park in the area. A popular attraction for both residents and visitors from afar, the park is located on the beautiful sandy shores of the Columbia River.

Swimming – Not only can you swim in the clear waters of the Columbia River, the park features three river fed natural swimming pools, perfect for small children and family play.

Biking – a new three acre bike pike has been hailed the best in the Kootenay Region. Including beginner to expert pump tracks, dirt jumps and lumber drop in, it is a must for any bike enthusiast.

Sports – If sports is your game, you can enjoy beach volleyball, designated soccer fields, pickleball, tennis courts, outdoor green gym and more.

Leisure – Enjoy a designated dog park and pond, garden and BBQ picnic areas, playground, children’s play areas and concession. Walking trails lead to historical Zuckerberg Island.

Memorial Dedication Program - The City of Castlegar invites applications from any individual, organization or service group to be made towards park and public space improvements, including park benches, picnic tables, bike racks, trees, dog pet stands or other park improvement projects.
