Castlegar & District Community Services Society Presentation
Council received a presentation from Reidun Rosi on behalf of the Castlegar & District Community Services Society. The presentation outlined plans for a new shelter and responses to questions from the Council.

Communities in Bloom Presents Public Art Proposal
Council heard from Darlene Kalawsky on behalf of Castlegar Communities in Bloom, presenting two proposed community art projects for 2025. The first project is a themed mural titled Edible Gardening, which will be created on the Sherbiko Hill wall. The second proposal involves children’s chalk art activities during Sunfest on June 7 in Spirit Square. Council expressed appreciation for the initiative and referred the proposals to staff for coordination.

Introduction of 2025 Miss Castlegar Candidates
Carol Sommerville, representing the Castlegar Queen Committee, introduced the 2025 Miss Castlegar candidates. Council welcomed the participants and expressed appreciation for their involvement in this longstanding community tradition. The Miss Castlegar Pageant will be held on June 6 at the Brilliant Cultural Centre.

SCADA System Upgrades Awarded – Invitation to Tender 25-11
Council approved awarding Invitation to Tender 25-11 for SCADA system upgrades to Arrowtech Electric Ltd. for $67,200 plus applicable taxes. The upgrades will replace outdated communication systems and improve remote monitoring at four key utility sites to enhance reliability, reduce operational costs, and support regulatory compliance.
