Corporate Services
The City of Castlegar’s Corporate Services department provides legislative services, and is responsible for preparing and disseminating Council agendas and minutes and maintaining access to corporate records (including bylaws, policies and procedures and contract administration).
Corporate Services ensures the effective and efficient management of the administrative operations of the City, including protocol, legal matters, records management, the publication of notices and requests under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislation.
Corporate Services provides legislative services, and is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of Council agendas and minutes, maintenance and access to corporate records (including bylaws, policies and procedures and contract administration), provides support, advice and parliamentarian responsibilities to Council and the CAO, and administers local government and school district elections.
The department also oversees the City’s human resources, bylaw enforcement, and health & safety functions.

Bylaws
The BC Government authorizes jurisdictions like the City of Castlegar to create and enforce bylaws to maintain community safety, health, and sustainability.
