The City of Castlegar only accepts resumes for open employment postings and the City does not keep resumes on file in anticipation for future postings. We encourage you to watch for and apply for employment opportunities with the City on this web page.

When a position becomes available for external recruitment, the City advertises the employment opportunity in the local newspaper, via this web page, or other employment sites. The advertisement contains a brief job description, statement of minimum training and experience, and a description of any specific certification that may be required. A closing date will be available on every employment advertisement.

Yes. You must submit a separate resume and cover letter for each employment opportunity you’re applying for. You may apply for as many jobs as you wish, so long as the positions are currently open.

The City reviews all applications to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications and special requirements as stated in the job posting. Failure to include all information requested could result in the rejection of your application. With accurate and complete information, we will be able to determine whether you meet the minimum qualifications for the position.

After resumes and cover letters have been screened for qualifications, applicants are then shortlisted. The Corporate Services department will then contact those applicants they wish to interview.

The City appreciates all applicants for their interest and effort in applying, but will only contact the candidates selected for an interview.
