FireSmart BC – Local FireSmart Collective Program
FireSmart BC’s Local FireSmart Collective Program (LFCP) represents the next step in advancing community wildfire resilience. The program is available to groups of residents in areas of continuous land and structures where it is beneficial for property owners within the City of Castlegar’s municipal boundary to work together as a collective.
Developed by FireSmart BC and managed through an online platform, the program recognizes and rewards collective action to protect homes and shared spaces from wildfire. Participants progress through a four-tier system that reflects increasing levels of wildfire resilience, with recognition and financial incentives available at each stage.
