Pothole Patching & Maintenance of Gravel Roads & Alleyways
The City uses different methods for pothole patching. During the spring and summer months, infrared pothole patching is used, this provides a more permanent fix as it allows for the new patch to tie into the existing surface area. During shoulder seasons, cold patch is used to temporarily maintain safe road conditions. Crews also grade and resurface gravel roads and alleyways throughout Castlegar to remediate potholes. This work is done on a continual basis throughout the Spring and Summer months.
Creek Inspections
Creek inspections are done on a regular basis, throughout the City, to prevent blocked culverts and damage to roads and properties with the spring run off.
Street / Traffic Lights & Signs
In the Spring, the City does an assessment of signs and lights to see what needs repair or replacement. The repairs and replacements are done throughout the year as required.
