DISCUSSION & DECISIONS
Emergency Support Services – Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (Report No. 25-76)
Council approved that the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) apply on the City’s behalf to the UBCM Community Emergency Preparedness Fund for up to $30,000 to support Emergency Support Services equipment and training. If successful, the RDCK will manage the grant funds.

2025 Q3 Community Grant Applications (Report No. 25-75)
Council approved all applications submitted under the City’s Q3 Community Grant program. Total funding of $6,385 was awarded to support local sports, arts, and community services:
- Castlegar Rebels – $1,385 for Home Game Sponsorship to help offset ice rental, ticket booth, and referee costs and support accessible, local junior hockey.
- Castlegar Skating Club – $2,000 to host the West Kootenay Invitational in December, bringing 100–150 skaters and families to the community.
- Kootenay Family Place – $1,500 for the Fundraising Gala & Silent Auction, supporting childcare and early years programming in Castlegar.
- Kootenay Gallery of Art – $1,500 to offset costs from their 50th Anniversary community celebration held in September.

Letter of Support – Kootenay Gallery of Art
Council approved providing a letter of support for the Kootenay Gallery of Art’s funding application to the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program (REDIP), to assist with advancing detailed design and planning for future facility development.
